I'm looking for a reputable company to build some downstream automation equipment for an injection molding press.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary, there are two comapnies that I know which provide very good automation assistance to molders.

One is Global Tool and Automation located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Contact John Tite at 260-747-0531 email John@gtacorp.com.

Also, Master Industries in Pique, OH has done a great amount of work custom automation.  Please contact Jim Brodgen at Master Industries at 937-778-1300 and email address jbrogden@master-ind.com.

Gary,

Master builds automation cells for many of our own molding applications as well as for other molders. We can do full automation including the use of multiple 6-axis robots down to simple operator assist tools.

We bring a molders mind-set to our approach to automation so that it is affordable and gets the payback you need with out “overkill” on the technology or cost.

We would be happy to take a look at your project and show you what we have accomplished for ourselves and others.

For what it's worth, our experience with outside automation houses is that their concepts are pretty good, but the workmanship is terrible. Many of these companies just don't understand how to design something to last, i.e. bolting something together instead of doweling, non-hardened inserts in wear areas, etc.

We build our own stuff now (for our use) and have much better results. I don't know Master Industries capabilites on this, but I'd trust them as a molder before an automation house.
