Job Information:

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing materials and services, developing mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, ensuring the quality of raw materials received, developing initiatives to reduce lead times, and reduce costs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Order placement and generation of purchase orders

Monitor schedule and daily requirements to ensure on-time deliveries of purchased components, and uninterrupted production

Sourcing of new suppliers consistent with acceptable quality and delivery at the lowest evaluated cost

Control purchased inventory values per prescribed budget and to ensure efficient use of cash and space

New part entry for PL, CO, PK and IN items

Perform monthly review of inventory quantities and cost, perform adjustments as needed and generate computer inventory variation reports

Quarterly oversee and/or participate in physical inventory.  Verify any discrepancies of inventory quantities and cost, perform adjustments as needed and generate computer inventory variation reports

Educational Requirements and Years of Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent experience in purchasing (at least 5 years)

Excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills

Good computer skills; proficient in Word and Excel preferred

Ability to work under minimal supervision

Knowledge of injection molding or general molding related issues including forecasting and planning

Purchase experience in a technical environment including negotiations, raw material procurement, inventory management, and MRP systems
