Responsibilities:
•Supervises activities of workers  engaged in manufacturing modifications of molds, dies, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools, applying knowledge of machining and tool and die construction
•Modifies existing tools and dies
•Performs complex tool making procedures requiring filling and assembling parts, and making adjustments to meet  requriements
•Operates from detailed diagrams
•Purchase all necessary tool components for repairs or maintenance
•Supplies Sates with vendor quotations and assists Sales with generating a quotation to be presented  to the customer  for tooling repairs or maintenance
•Provides technical support to the customer and to engineering relating to secondary operations, additional equipment, resources, etc.
•Works with Quailty to analyze and develop in-process quality issues
•Maintains adequate levels of supplies for tool room
•Track all tooling work orders for completion and or delivery
   
Existing Tooling and Second Operation Equipment:
•Interfaces directly with the Tooling Engineer/Manager, Quality and/or Sales on daily tooling issues
•Sets priorities and tracks progress on repairs and engineering changes
•Interfaces directly with the Tooling Engineer/Manager on tooling issues, engineering changes, etc., to achieve optimum tool performance
   
Quality:
•Interfaces with Quality and customers on all tooling issues, which relate to dimensions
   
Production Control:
•Work with Production Control to ensure  that tooling required for upcoming production is in a state of readiness prior to scheduling
   
Manufacturing:
•Provide technci alsupport in regards to tool performance while in production
•Provide technical support as it relates to fixtures, assembly, equipment,degating fixtures, etc.
•Provide technical support to minimize mold set up time, optimize cycle time and increase overall production
     

Requirements


Tool Room Lead

•Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
•Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
•To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Engineering Software, CAM Works and CNC
•Experience in end of arm tooling
