Production Process/Machine Repair

This position is responsible for the same and efficient operation of various equipment and production lines.  The Maintenance Technician will operate, troubleshoot, adjust and repair production equipment to meet or exceed product specifications and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and production efficiencies.

Job Specific Responsibilities •Regularly check machine settings in order to maximize line, line speed, material, efficiencies.
•Identifies and recommends improvements throughout the production department.
•Able to perform setup, start up, repairing quality equipment and minor repairs on production equipment, including troubleshooting Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electric, and Mechanical systems and equipment.
•Replenish work cell materials; i.e. refill hopper.
•Help schedule and perform preventative and routine maintenance.
•Accurately and timely completion of records related to downtime, production, scrap, repairs, etc.
•Perform basic computer programming as needed to operate/repair SCI equipment.
•Able to stop production in necessary situations as well as work towards minimizing downtime as required.
•Assists in identifying non-conforming product and re-work of non-conforming product as necessary.
•Actively work towards improving the technical knowledge of group members.
•Identify root-cause analysis and process control implementation to ultimately support sustainability.
•Works with other Maintenance Technicians to maximize metrics in the work area.
•Be able to cover breaks for other cell members.
•May fill in certain duties for the Group Leader in his/her absence or as requested.
•Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as requested by Group Leader.

Education and Experience 
•Proven Trouble-Shooting skills with Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical, and Mechanical systems, as well as a working knowledge of air compressors, electrical motors and PLC required.
•Two (2) or more years’ experience working in a plastics or manufacture environment preferred
•Prior experience with preventative maintenance, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement a plus.
•Must be able to operate the proper equipment related to the job in the work cell.
