We are considering whether to merge two IQMS databases due to a merger.  Does anyone out there have any similar experience that can give us some input or advice?

We investigated this as well. We contacted IQMS and they were going to assign it to the special projects team. The issue is there is only one underlying data file for one plant or multiple eplants.

They will ask you what data you would like to import from the one system and merge into the other. In our case we opted to rebuild the BOMS because of timing.

I was hoping it was as easy as taking the .dmp file out of one and loading into the new system or eplant  but turns out it was not.

Running on a different eplant will keep everything separate. You will just need to toggle back and forth. If you want separate financials different gl accounts will need to be setup.

If you want to merge all into one eplant the same issue will exist with the file as above. IQMS can help you further importing and exporting specifics into the file that IQMS works off of.
