I am trying to get a benchmarking on how other manufacturers maintain their press fluids; more specifically, how often people change the oil in their plastics injection molding machines?

Any help in this area would be very much appreciated.

Thank You!!!

As part of our scheduled PM program, we send a sample of our oil out to a lab on an annual basis.  The lab then submits a report indicating whether the quality level of the oil is acceptable.  Your oil supplier should be able to provide you with contact info for an analysis lab.  Depending on how much oil you purchase on an annual basis, they may even pay for the service.

My oil Supplier does not know anything about getting oil tested.

We use Polaris labs to check our oil.  We have an in-house reclaim system that filters the oil to an acceptable level for use in some of our older machines.

We also use Polaris, are you happy with Polaris?

Yep, Polaris does ours as well.
