Plastic Industry Forum - Converse with Plastics Processing Leaders / Business / Small Volume Molding Work - Alternative Low Cost Tooling Needed

Our company is looking for a low cost alternative to making between 1,000 – 5,000 plastics parts that we feel need to be injection molded. 

These parts need to be molded out of a ESD ABS raw material or other comparable plastics material with ESD ratings. The plastics part dimensions are 4" wide by 14" long with 2 pyramid shaped, raised areas on each end about 5" high. These are cradles designed to hold and secure a long tube that fits into the shape of the cradle and the plastic for the cradle must have ESD ratings.  The part wall thickness needs to be about .125" thick. 

Becasue volume is not present to support traditional injection mold tooling, we need ideas for ways to manufacture these parts.
